I'm also thinking of doing a similar gown in a diffrent color scheme with a doublet over dress but we will see how this one goes- maybe I'll save that for the next IRCC

Stonegate

I see I have not been great in keeping my blog updated lately. The main reason for this is since April the area I've been playing with have been working on becoming a shire. It's been a lot of hard work and I admit things have been moving very fast. This split while supported has not been easy. We are basically going from maybe we should do this to official in 6 months (if the heraldry gods are with us and pass our name the first time through). We are also doing this with pretty much no support from the barony besides a go away don't let the door hit you on the way out. With the issues the barony has been dealing with the last two years we couldn't expect anything diffrent. So that's my excuse- I've got some projects in the hopper and will be posting them soon

#100daysofembroidery

The Barony of Loch Salaan's needlework guild is holding a challenge to do 100 days of embroidery. I was a bit late hearing about the challenge but figured why not.

I decided to use the Pattern by the attack laurel based on the blackwork pattern above that is housed in the MET
traced and framed now to stitch

Coif based on a find. Silk twill with black silk embroidery floss using an outline Stitch. The pattern was created by or talented laurel

Gift for a friend

A gift for a friend upon her elevation! It's done and delivered.

I have had several folks all for a class on drawn thread. I haven't looked to much into the historical accuracy of the motifs I use with my drawn thread I just do the styles I was taught in school. So this opens a door for some research for me. I also planto do up some samplers so I can use them in the class

peerage gifts

I've got a lot on my plate several folks I know are getting peerages which means I'm getting lots of requests for little things for ceremonies. Sadly my friend Avi had his pelican ceremony so quickly I didn't really have time to get his gift done but it's still on the to do list.  So expect a lot of progress pics of projects here.

I have one secret gift that is being worked on but cannot be revealed yet.
The one I can share is a handkerchief for a dear friends laurel ceremony.  I had already started pulling threads when I heard about her offer which is when I knew this had to become her handkerchief.  I'm still planning on some cut work and I'm arguing if I want to do some type of edging
